Blue Spirit Retreat is situated in Nosara, on the Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Depending on your chosen arrival airport in Costa Rica, LIBERIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT or SAN JOSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, there are different options to travel onwards to Blue Spirit Retreat.

From Liberia International Airport (LIR) to Blue Spirit Retreat – a 2-hour drive:

Rental Car: You may reserve your own rental car to drive from Liberia to Blue Spirit Retreat. However, a car is not needed during your stay with us. We recommend online bookings with www.toyota.com/rental or www.nationalcar.com, as these rental car companies allow you to drop off your car in Nosara if so desired.

Taxi: If you miss a Blue Spirit Shuttle or prefer to travel on your own, there are always taxis available at the aiport that will take you to Blue Spirit Retreat in Nosara for approximately $130.

From San Jose International Airport (SJO) to Blue Spirit Retreat – a 5-hour drive:

Rental Car: You may reserve your own rental car to drive from San Jose to Blue Spirit Retreat. However, a car is not needed during your stay with us. We recommend online bookings with www.toyota.com/rental or www.nationalcar.com, as these rental car companies allow you to drop off your car in Nosara. The price for a one day rental car with drop off in Nosara is usually around $100 (from either Liberia or San Jose).

Taxi: If you miss our Shuttle or prefer to travel on your own, there are always taxis available at the aiport in San Jose that will take you to Blue Spirit Retreat in Nosara for approximately $230.

Flying to Nosara: You may take a 40 minutes flight to the Nosara Local Airport, which is a 15 minute drive from Blue Spirit Retreat. (It usually requires arriving in San Jose the night before and then taking a morning flight to Nosara to assure making the connection).

Once you arrive in Nosara, there are always taxis waiting that can bring you to Blue Spirit Retreat. The trip costs $20. For your departure from Blue Spirit Retreat to Nosara Airport ask reception to order you a taxi.

There are two airlines with daily flights to and from Nosara. For schedules, fares, and bookings visit www.airlines-sansa.com or www.natureair.com. Both airlines may impose luggage restrictions, and if you don’t want to pay for extra weight at the airport, please carefully read the information on their websites.

We would like to alert you to the fact, that Sansa Airlines can change or cancel their scheduled flights, if the weather conditions are considered precarious for their propeller planes (too windy, i.e.). With both airlines we recommend for your homebound traveling to plan for ample connection time, so that you don’t miss your departing international flight. Nature Air is more reliable regarding their flight schedule. However, you will need to take a 20 minutes taxi ride in San Jose between the International Airport and the Domestic Pavas Airport.

Blue Spirit Shuttle Services are available from and to Liberia International Airport and San Jose International Airport. Blue Spirit shuttle services are only available on the scheduled arrival and departure dates of your group program.
